Academic Recovery Program
Each summer and fall, the University College Advising Center (UCAC) hosts the Academic Recovery Program. Since 2014, the Academic Recovery Program has focused on former PACE students who are in their second semester of academic probation and whose majors are in the College of Science and Engineering, College of Education, College of Health Professions, McCoy College of Business, and University College. The Academic Recovery Program consists of a summer phase and a fall phase, each with the primary objective of helping students increase their Texas State GPA and return to good academic standing to avoid academic suspension.
During the summer phase of Academic Recovery, UCAC advisors proactively reach out to students via phone or email to help them strategically plan their schedules for a return to good academic standing in summer or fall. During the fall phase of the Academic Recovery Program, UCAC advisors encourage in-person appointments in which they guide students in reflecting upon their first semesters, considering areas for improvement, and developing an action plan for future success.
